European Medical Affairs Manager Ophthalmology - Belgium

We are looking for a European Medical Affairs Manager for one of our clients, International Biopharmaceutical Company.

Responsibilities:

1)Medical Affairs

The European Medical Manager will be responsible of the medical strategy to support the pre- and post commercialisation of compounds in ophthalmology.

a)Phase IV trials
Collaborating on the development of company strategy in all medical and clinical research efforts for scientific publications and product investigations (e.g. Investigator Initiated Studies)

b)Global reimbursement strategy and implementation in the different countries
Medical support in pricing and reimbursement process in collaboration with the selected reimbursement agency for negotiations with local payers and health authorities in Europe.

c)Design Key Opinion Leader strategy
•Mapping and management of key opinion leaders (KOLs) and key customers
•Medical/scientific brand expert to develop, execute and drive scientific/educational strategies and tactics such as clinical and disease-area publications, slide libraries
•Organizing advisory boards and consensus meetings with the KOLs related to different topics


d) Medical approval process
Review of product related information, promotional materials, and professional medical education programs.

2) Clinical Development

•Serve as Clinical Project Leader on assigned projects
•Manage clinical development projects in collaboration with the Clinical Project Manager.


QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:

1.This position requires a MD degree with previous (bio)pharmaceutical experience in medical affairs.
2.Experience in ophthalmic domain is required
3.Experience in clinical development (support global clinical trials, protocols,…) is desired.
4.Previous exposure in pharmacovigilance is an asset
5.Fluent in English, both verbal and written
6.Confidence and ability to function independently.
7.Excellent interpersonal, communication and organization skills, the ability to work across company locations, disciplines and functional units and computer application experience.
