Drug Product Development Scientist

Our client is looking for an experienced scientist to support the drug product development for their pipeline. Reporting to the team leader of Drug Product Development, this is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-growing environment within the Biopharmaceutical Development (BPD) and build the drug product strategy to enable pre-clinical and clinical studies.
You will be responsible for generating data packages to drive the drug product development for their pipeline and help building a seamless internal capability by working closely with downstream, analytical, clinical and regulatory teams.
You will be involved in a range of activities:
Contribute to establish new stability indicating assays
Perform drug product testing and clinical simulated administration
Design, conduct and interpret analytical assays (e.g. chromatographic and electrophoretic methods, light scattering) to enable screening stages, product quality analysis and stability testing
Perform pre-formulation and formulation studies, force degradation, accelerated and real time studies
Provide concise data summary and present outcome to key stakeholders
Education & Experience
Educated to at least degree level in an Analytical/formulation science, or another relevant degree
Previous, relevant bench-based laboratory experience in drug product development of biomolecules
Previous industry experience in drug product development (formulation, stability, delivery systems)
Experience in lyophilization of biologics (preferable)
Experience in drug product fill/finish and labelling processes (desirable)
Experience in formulation of bispecific antibodies and non-conventional formats (desirable)
Experience in drug product simulated clinical administration compatibility testing (desirable)
Skills & Knowledge
In-depth understanding of protein biochemistry or protein biophysics
Experience in protein analytics (e.g. HPLC, SDS PAGE, CE, DLS, SLS) and routine laboratory procedure (e.g. pH, conductivity, spectrometry)
Ability to work to tight deadlines, troubleshoot effectively and respond quickly to changes in priority
Methodical, organised with an aptitude for detail
Demonstrated strengths in planning, organisational, analytical skills, time management and problem solving
Ability to work closely with others, encourage good team spirit, motivate a multi-skilled team to higher goals and demonstrate initiative as required
A flexible and willing attitude with the desire to continually improve and develop
