The Clinical Professionals 2016 AGM

On Friday 6th of May, the Clinical Professionals Group held its AGM at the Penta Hotel in Reading to celebrate another successful year in Life Sciences staffing and to thank all of our staff for their massive contribution to an exceptional year.  2016 also sees the business celebrate its 10th anniversary which we see as a significant milestone.

The overall theme of the day was based around relationships; creating and maintaining them for both our candidates and clients.  In September 2015 The Clinical Professionals Group was acquired by CPL Resources PLC, and we were delighted that Anne Heraty, Chief Executive of CPL Resources, was a key speaker at the event.  Her focus was around building sustainable relationships within our client and candidate groups and how trust, accountability and effective communication are essential in professional staffing.

Anne was followed by our guest speaker Peter Cosgrove, Director at CPL and founder of the Future of Work Institute. Peter gave a fantastic and inspirational talk relating to not only relationships with Consultants’ candidates but also together as a group, whilst also providing some funny anecdotes and creative insight; all to encourage our staffing professionals to be innovative and to build relationships that stand the test of time.

Glen Hall, COO of Clinical Professionals Group, provided a review of the financial year highlighting the key highlights and success drivers in 2016.

Yvette Cleland, CEO of Clinical Professionals Group, delivered a presentation on our future road map before introducing our new charitable collaboration with Adrian Treacy, CEO of the Arrows Group. The collaboration will be with the Arrows Group Foundation whose aim is to enhance the lives of children in poverty by tackling it through employability.  We look forward to planning lots of events to help raise money for the Arrows Group Foundation and several employees have already expressed interest in volunteering.

The latter half of the AGM featured this year’s team activity! Consultants were placed in teams and pitted against one another in an “Apprentice” style challenge where they were required to come up with an innovative idea to maintain and develop relationships for the business. After an hour of preparation, each team pitched to two different judges for 5 minutes who assessed their pitch on various criteria to feedback to our “Lady Sugar” who then grilled each team in a board meeting style scenario.  After whittling down the 8 teams to a solitary 4, the final winner was announced and presented with the coveted trophy and a day at the races!
Yvette Cleland CEO commented

“It is so personally inspiring to be part of such a vibrant, diverse and exciting business; our recent acquisition has allowed significant investment in our many programs that see us add value to an industry we are passionate about.  Our collaboration with the Arrows Group Foundation as part of our CSR program yet again sees us as a staffing business that is working hard in all we do and not forgetting to assist and give back in areas where disadvantage can be overcome by education and practical support”.
