Clinical Professionals 2019 AGM
Our vision as an organisation is “committed to improving the lives of patients by connecting talented professionals to the life sciences industry.” Clinical Professionals comes together every year as a business at our AGM to ensure the whole company embraces our strategy moving forward, celebrates our successes and continues to be aware of the many new innovations and value added services we now bring each day to our clients and candidates alike.
Yvette Cleland, Clinical Professionals CEO kicked off the day with an introduction and a run through of the Agenda.
Yvette was then followed by Lorna Conn, CPL Chief Financial Officer who discussed the 2019 financial year, CPL’s vision and aims for the following year, and an emphasis on “becoming the World’s Best at Transforming our Clients through Total Solutions”.
Suzanne Dolan, Director of Covalen, introduced the business and how it will be interacting with Clinical Professionals. Showcasing the Covalen brand, a new (very snazzy) logo, their essence pillars and 3-year strategy.
Clinical Professionals COO Glen Hall then covered the Clinical Professionals FY20 update, discussed IR35 and the subsequent workshops and sessions we will be running (please click her for information on our IR35 breakfast seminar). Glen also discussed all the positive changes over the past year and opportunities open to those within the business including some of our latest and innovative business strategies that aim to benefit our clients and candidates.
Our charity review revealed Clinical Professionals raised over £7,000 for our company charity Bloodwise. This has contributed towards 14 nurses who support the trials in the TAP centres for 3 days, or supporting 3 ground-breaking early phase clinical trials. Every member of Clinical Professionals has contributed via fundraising events, Suzanne Swan ran not one, but two marathons for Bloodwise. We have so enjoyed being part of giving back and making a difference in our own small way. This year we are adopting a new charity Alzheimer’s Research and will continue our efforts with a similar level of passion and drive to do all we can within this critical area of research.
Yvette Cleland commented “This year a group of colleagues and I had what can only be described by most of us as one of the very best days of our lives. We had the opportunity to go whale watching off of the coast of Boston, MA. What we saw that day will stay with all of us forever. For a long time as a business we have looked at how we can continue as a business to give back, to be accountable and take charge of being a more sustainable business. This year in a commitment to Giving Back, every time we make a placement with a client the Clinical Professionals Group will be supporting the Marine Conservation Society making sure part of our profit, profits our world. We hope over the coming year to support the endangered wildlife in our oceans and the impact single use plastic is having on our planet and our oceans.”
After the presentations, commendations and promotions were handed out to some much-deserved employees. Celebrating record breaking achievements and dedication to the business.
Finishing off with an afternoon event, teams pitched to judges Yvette, Glen and “intern” Jordan. Congratulations to the winning team Only Medics & Medical Affairs, who successfully ended a very productive day.
“We couldn’t achieve anything without having such great clients and candidates, I would therefore like to say a huge thank you to everyone we have worked with in our last financial year. We never take our business for granted and we have enjoyed working with such an eclectic group of clients and candidates, it has been a privilege to find so many talented people new opportunities in the life sciences industry.”
