Clinical Professionals promotes Training Academy at Universities in the UK
Over the past few weeks Clinical Professionals has been attending a variety of different careers fairs located at universities in the UK to help spread awareness of the Training Academy and assisting Life Science graduates in kick-starting their careers in the industry!
This week Michael Spiers – Academy and Hosted Employment business manager, and Nikki Doyle – Hosted Employment manager attended the Science and Health Careers Fair at Cardiff University. Nikki Doyle reflects on the event:
“The fair was well attended, with the university informing us that over 160 students had attended on the day. We spoke to a large number of highly engaging Biomedical Science and Health & Social Care students, many in their final year and in the last stages of writing up their dissertations. So I think a bit of procrastination might have been a motivating factor in the large turn out! We had great feedback from those that we spoke to and they were all really keen to register their details and hear more about the academy.”
Sarah Goddard – Recruitment Director and Douglas Stewart – Associate Director of the Academy visited the Brunel Bioscience fair alongside numerous other life science businesses to highlight the importance of the academy and the opportunities available to graduates:
“Clinical Professionals were delighted to once again be invited to present and exhibit at the Brunel University BioScience careers event. There was a packed auditorium of over 150 students who had gathered to hear about opportunities within the Life Science sector. We spoke about general career options but focussed on our fully funded, award-winning graduate Academy Program and how they could apply, how it would benefit them and what they would get in terms of ongoing career support and training. It was a fantastic event, as always, added to greatly this year by having speakers and exhibitors who were returning alumni – a nice touch! We look forward to the next event and a continued partnership with Brunel University.”
The Clinical Professionals Academy address both the new entry level training investment and create an opportunity for the UK’s talented Life Science graduates to start addressing the skilled candidate shortfall in the Life Sciences sector. We have partnered with many of the UK’s leading Universities and Colleges who educate graduates in Life Science related fields, to further identify career paths for them and introduce them to the fully-funded Academy Programs.
This modular training course will initially bring through entry level graduates into a variety of critical roles e.g. CTA (Clinical Trial Administrator), Regulatory Administrator, PV Associate, Data Manager, Medical Information Associate, Quality Assurance Associate and Medical Communications, and as it progresses will develop CRA/RBMs (Clinical Research Associates/Risk Based Monitors) and offer enhanced skills training for Lead CRAs and Project Managers. We have also developed other “pillars” to our training course that encompass; MSL Academy for PhDs and Pharmacists looking to get into their first MSL role, Scientific Academy for graduates looking for their first lab-based role, Med Comms Academy for PhDs and graduates looking for their first role in healthcare communications/PR and ‘Physician 2 Pharma’ for medics looking for their first role in industry. These are unique service offerings from a specialist staffing provider and will begin to assist the unaddressed training needs of the Life Science Industry.
Our awarding winning Training Academy has now placed over 60 graduates into their first to industry roles and numerous clients have come back for their 3rd or 4th graduate hiring after realising the value in the graduates we had to offer.
Clinical Professionals will be next presenting to Life Science students and discussing the Training Academy at the University of East London on Tuesday 21st March and the University of Derby on Thursday 23rd March.
